The summer time is a great time to enjoy the water. But boaters, swimmers, and marina staff must be aware of the dangers in and around the water. Some good tips are to make sure you check the weather before heading out for a day of fun. Getting caught in a storm on the water can cause numerous problems and hazards. Another tip is to make sure you have the proper equipment on the boat to include appropriate life jackets for all boaters and fire extinguisher. Most people do cover the tips mentioned above, but there are some others that boaters can forget about. Some hazards that people are not aware of can include electrical and carbon monoxide.
